Certificate Program

The California State University, East Bay HVAC Technician Certificate provides heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration installers and technicians a comprehensive training program.

Cal State East Bay's HVAC coursework has been designed to follow the general consensus among industry leaders regarding what skills and knowledge HVAC/R professionals require. Our program meets the educational recommendations of HVAC/R industry organizations such as The Air-Conditioning Refrigeration Institute (ARI), North American Technician Excellence (NATE), Refrigeration Service Engineers Society (RSES) and Air-Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA) and NATE endorses our curriculum with "Recognized Training" status.

The program's online-only format makes it convenient for HVAC/R professionals anywhere in the world, not just those who live or work in the San Francisco East Bay Area. With one master course broken down into 12 modules sections, the curriculum mixes text reading assignments, Web site tours, applied exercises, inline quizzes, industry terminology definitions, video clips, animations, images and handouts.

Students also will learn from a 28-year HVAC/R veteran who also is a pioneer in online HVAC/R training and the project director of the industry Web site HVACReduation.net.
