Construction ManagementCertificate ProgramThe California State University, East Bay Certificate in Construction Management gives construction industry professionals the skills and knowledge necessary to take on broader responsibility and advance their careers. The program also is an appealing option for architects, engineers, real estate professionals and others whose effectiveness in their jobs may require a stronger, more comprehensive and up-to-date understanding of construction management fundamentals. Students who take advantage of Cal State East Bay's Construction Management certificate program will be prepared for the myriad challenges they will face in the field day-to-day, from managing subcontractors and managing cash flow to controlling costs and minimizing risk. They will learn from seasoned professionals who include the operations manager for the Northern California Building Division of Swinerton, with coursework that mixes lectures, group work, reading and writing assignments, guest speaker engagements and Saturday morning field trips to local construction sites. Classes are held in the evenings and are conveniently located in downtown Oakland, making them easily accessible for those who live or work in San Francisco or the East Bay Area. Program Objectives
